Good morning to my fellow book lovers!
I don’t know about you, but I personally love other’s book recommendations in blog posts or on Pinterest, so today I thought I’d feature of few of my favorite books and recent reads that help inspire confidence. Not only do these books inspire confidence, but they’ve helped me on my entrepreneurial journey and have enhanced so many other areas of my life! Some of those areas are creativity, compassion, discipline, and mental health.
I hope you enjoy these recommendations and can learn valuable lessons from these books just as I have!
Read This for Inspiration has such a unique layout and theme. I’m not sure about you, but books that are broken up into sections, or that have shorter chapters, are definitely my jam! This book is organized into a bunch of different one-page stories (with fun drawings and images) with lessons that range from being your authentic self to dealing with stress to the benefits of making mistakes. I was actually able to read this awesome book in just 1 day because I couldn’t put it down! You can read it however you choose…one short little excerpt per day, or you can binge read the entire thing like I did!
I just finished reading this book a few weeks ago and it’s fantastic! Jen Sincero is the award-winning author who originally wrote the book “You are a Badass.” I’ve since read two of her others as well.
This book gives you a step by step action plan of improving your habits with helpful tips and tricks. Her writing style is so down to earth and funny, it’s tough to put the book down. By the end of the book, you have a clear, 21 day plan to implement more positive, healthy habits in your life.
I must say that this book has made the list for one of my favorite books I’ve ever read. It took me just over a week to read it. It’s attention-grabbing right from the get go, and I really like this author’s writing style. The author of this book sets out on a journey to purposely get rejected 100 times by asking ridiculous favors/request of complete strangers. The lessons he learns on this journey are outstanding and inspirational. His 100 day challenge becomes a life-changing experience for himself and countless others who follow his vlog documenting his journey. In receiving rejection so many times, his confidence increases, and so many other miraculous things start to happen!
Rejection Proof, in my opinion, is a must read for all ages and people in all industries.
This book has a really wide variety of lessons in in. I first read it quite some time ago, but want to pick it back up and read it again soon. The lessons in this book range from taking decisive action, to being disciplined with your health and fitness, to finding the motivation to get out of bed in the morning. Who better to write such a book than a former Navy Seal? Jocko Willink is very matter of fact, no excuses, and to the point in his writing style which comes across as him having great confidence himself. It really makes you want to take his advice to heart and implement his strategies into your own life.
Jocko WIllink has also written several other books, some of which are for older children to learn similar types of lessons. My daughter is currently reading his book series entitled ‘Way of the Warrior Kid’.
And last but not least on today’s book recommendation list… my absolute favorite book I’ve read to date. Outwitting the Devil is an inspirational book that should be read by everyone. There are only so many inspirational/self help books you can read until you begin to hear the same version of a life lesson said in a slightly different way. In this book however, the ideas and concepts are so unique and profound. This book was deemed to be very controversial for it’s time (the 1930’s), and wasn’t even published until Napoleon Hill had passed away. That introduction to it is what intrigued me so much to read it!
In this book, the author seems to predict the problems of future generations. It’s pretty crazy how he nails the issues on the head that we as a country/individuals face today. The layout of this book is that the author is having an “interview” type conversation with the devil, explaining all the ways he tries to make people fail and doubt themselves. As negative as that may sound, the book has an incredibly inspirational message on how to outwit the so called “devil’s” attempts to keep people down.
I hope this post has inspired you to pick up one or even all of these books to read and help you along your life journey somehow! You will not be disappointed. Happy reading!
