It’s a strange time. Unfortunately my husband and I have been working on rescheduling our honeymoon to Maui due to the global Covid-19 crisis. However, rescheduling a trip is a super small inconvenience compared to what some are going through at this time. Here in Wisconsin we’re currently under a required stay at home law much like many other states. It’s definitely forcing us to get creative with home activities.
I’ve compiled a unique list of at home activity ideas and I hope it inspires you in some way! One activity could include writing a list of ideas of your own 🙂 I did recently read something I really love that said, “you have every right to not be productive during this time.” It’s so true! If I would add one more to this list it would be “binge watch a mindless Netflix series.” Sometimes the best thing for us is just rest and relaxation when we can get it.
I’ve seen this become super popular and I absolutely love it. A lot of posts Im seeing show people doing this lately! Zoom is really user-friendly and it’s nice to stay connected. I think I’ve been in touch with people more during this time, which is definitely one positive aspect to it all. Checking in on friends and family is always a good thing 🙂
(Or getting lost browsing for anything for that matter because Pinterest is the coolest place ever and definitely passes time!) One struggle I’m facing is eating healthy during this time. It may be stress eating? I’m not sure…but the healthier the recipes are that you find and prepare, the more I salute you.
Are you laughing because you have no musical talent whatsoever? Good! That’ll make this even more fun. If you’re a parent your kids will also love it, it will be very memorable for them, and they don’t care how good you are. I promise 🙂
Reading is an awesome way to occupy your mind if you find yourself aimlessly scrolling through social media or excessively worrying. “Uplifting” being the key word. A few authors I love to recommend are Napoleon Hill, Deepak Chopra, and Dale Carnegie.
A blog is a perfect place to feature anything you want. Talk about your talents, your favorite hobbies. Even if your writing goals have nothing to do with making money, it’s a great creative outlet and a fun way to pass the time. You may end up loving it and wanting to do it for a living!
This task is daunting to me, so I put it on the list because it’s something I definitely need to do! Throw on some upbeat tunes and start organizing those emails! I’ve been working on unsubscribing from so many store promotional emails so that I’m not constantly distracted by phone notifications. Create folders, delete all the junk, start with a clean slate. Sounds fun, right?!
As you all might know already, getting outside during this time is a great way to relieve stress! You can’t go wrong when you’re getting those endorphins pumping through exercise. Another great option if you’re not able to get outside is to do an exercise video at home!
I can’t take the credit for this cute idea, it was my daughters. We definitely tried this before realizing our home printer was out of ink… nonetheless, I feel like kids of all ages would love doing this activity together as a family! Create some new wall art for each bedroom. If you’re struggling to find photos or don’t have many actual photos, a great place to start is in your facebook albums!
I absolutely love journaling. I keep a gratitude journal next to my bed and every so often before I fall asleep I like to write my goals for the next day and reasons I look forward to the next day. It makes waking up in the morning a little easier when you fall asleep thinking of reasons why you are excited for the next day. You can start a journal to keep track of whatever you want! Just writing your days events can help with mental clarity and organization. Plus, there’s always something special about using a good old fashioned pen and pencil.
It’s a perfect time of year for spring cleaning and organization. Going through beauty products can be a fun activity because you might find items you forgot you even had! I found some cool glass jars we used at our wedding to hold favors, and found out they work great for storing my makeup in on my bathroom counter; they look super cute and classy too!
I hope this sparked some inspiration during this time that we’re all doing our part to stay home. What are some ideas that you have for around the house? Comment and share below! xoxo, stay healthy & happy
